Finance-Microsoft Dynamics AX- Functional Consultant

Job Objectives:

  • Responsible for tracking and managing the project throughout the design, build and implementation phases of the project. This includes system requirements, tasks management and direction of the partners and internal key resources, management of the transition process, thorough documentation throughout  the  project  (status  reports,  risk  management,  resources  allocation,  etc.)  and  the management of the training for new systems
  • Minimum 4-9 years of work experience in AX

ERP Project deployment

  •     Business case (Project proposal, Statement of work, RACI) preparation with project sponsors.
  •      Document the general functional specifications (Blue Print) related to standard to-be business processes in the new system
  •      Take into account the whole application cartography in collaboration with the technical team to proposed the best approach to answer business requirements
  •      Estimate the workload for specification, data migration and development with the help of technical team
  •     Define data flow mapping (interfaces), integration principles (system owning the data, transformation rules …)
  •     Document functional specification related to gaps identified in design workshops
  •      Define  and  organize  the  data  migration  strategy  (stages/sequences,  planning  for  the development, cleansing tasks, data enrichment and execution of the migration …)
  •     Functional Setup and Configurations of the system
  •     Define, organize, execute test plan and prepare test datasets
  •     Define and coordinate Go Live cutover plan
  •     To be responsible for project schedule, budget and quality

Team lead and Team coordination

    Define and Organize the AX training

    Groom juniors

    Coordinate the different resources involved on the project

Business / Technical skills:

In depth knowledge of AX functionalities, primarily on Finance modules is required

o Basic knowledge on trade and logistics is also required

o End to End implementation with AX 2012 is preferred

o Worked on at least 4 full implementations of Dynamics AX

o Customer interaction skills to be able to manage the different arbitrations on

deliverables timeliness Quality and Budget

  • Process improvement background (ITIL expert, Six Sigma), is an added advantage

   Soft skills:

o Ability to work collaboratively and without direct reporting supervision

o Good team player who shares knowledge and experience with team members

o Thinks clearly and calmly under pressure

o Investigates problems to establish real or hidden causes

o Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

o Leadership quality to be able to influence without authority

o Should place utmost value to client satisfaction

o Managerial experiences is an added advantage


o Microsoft certified on Finance is an added advantage

o APICS certification is an added advantage
